The Miner’s Trail at the Giant Waterwheel, explore the mine shafts and finish off in our mining exhibition. Silver Mountain is steeped in history, starting all the way back in 1742, and it is worth taking a day to explore the natural beauty of the site as well as the beautifully restored mining equipment

The Spaceguard Centre

The centre is the National Near Earth Objects Information Centre (NNEOIC). With Jonathan R. Tate as its Director, it is the only organisation in the UK dedicated to addressing the hazard of Near Earth Objects.  NEOs are asteroids and comets that come close to, and sometimes collide with the Earth.   The Centre aims to develop and maintain a world-class facility for astronomical research and science education, and to bring the wonders of the universe to everyone in a fun and understandable way.  The observatory is located on a remote, dark sky site ideal for astronomy, surrounded by the stunning Welsh MarchesOn a visit one of the country’s leading experts will explain the structure of the solar system, why we have a problem and how we can solve it.
